Tutorial 1 of 5
Your first scene and render
Beginner 6 min
Build a small editable 3D concept, set a camera and export a local render.
Start with a concept
Open Renderloom and choose Templates. Studio corner, Courtyard pavilion, Terraced forms and L-shaped counter are original editable examples. Your current scene remains in the five local Recent projects. New starts an empty scene.
The object tree controls visibility. Select a solid to edit its name, color, material finish, dimensions, placement or rotation. Add box and Add cylinder create simple primitives. Duplicate or copy and paste a solid to reuse it. Locked solids cannot be transformed or deleted.
Frame and light
Camera and saved shots controls the orthographic 3D camera. Fit visible model centers the camera around the visible solids. Frame selected solid centers and fits the selected visible solid, including rotated geometry. Quick views look from the named world axis; side views stay 5° above the horizon. Camera azimuth rotates around Z; elevation raises the viewpoint. View span changes the area visible in the image. Camera changes can be undone, and saved shots preserve the current camera.
Light azimuth and elevation control the single light. Shadow softness changes sampled light directions; ambient light fills surfaces. These settings affect the beauty pass. A changed scene shows a draft until you render again.
Render locally
Choose Beauty and Render preview. Rendering runs in a local worker; Stop render cancels the work. Completed samples remain exportable. The width, height and samples control both image quality and workload.
Download PNG, SVG or Print / PDF after rendering. The SVG contains the rendered PNG, not editable vector geometry. Save keeps a separate editable Renderloom scene, including every solid, finish, camera and setting.
Keep a backup
Browser autosave keeps five recent scenes. Save and Save as create portable native files. Browser storage can be cleared, so download a scene file for long-term storage. Files and rendering stay on your device.
Find help and shortcuts
Help and shortcuts explains the workflow and lists every keyboard shortcut. Ctrl/Cmd+S saves, Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes and Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z redoes. The single-key shortcuts F (fit image), R (render preview) and ? (help) can be switched off in the same dialog if they clash with your screen reader or speech input. Dark theme switches the workspace colours; without a choice the workspace follows the site theme.
